Description
THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN FAR SUBPART 12.6-STREAMLINED PROCEDURES FOR EVALUATION AND SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS-AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTATIONS ARE BEING REQUESTED, AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This is a solicitation of Purchase Request F1W3L76194A100 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-12. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 336999 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This acquisition is set aside for small businesses. This solicitation is for Brand Name Only. All responsible Contractors shall provide a quote for the following: Line Item 0001: Quantity Eight (8) set SIB Broom Core P/N SIB MB 2X92805 Line Item 0002: Freight to Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska Justification: The SIB cores are manufactured by Svenska Industri Borstar. Currently there are 12 brooms in the fleet which all require the SIB cores. Using other than the SIB cores would create excessive wear and tear and could cause significant damage to the roads. The requirement of replacement cores would be kept to a minimum since SIB warranties cores for 5 years. SIB cores have a solid core construction. The solid core construction prevents sand and dirt from accumulating on the inside of the broom core. Dirt and debris in cores could cause the brooms to become off balance making the entire truck shake and harder to control. The use of SIB cores ensures fleet integrity and will not require additional training, tools or materials. Delivery shall be completed not later than 4 months after receipt of an order and shall be FOB Destination. The full text of a FAR provision or clause may be accessed electronically at www.farsite.hill.af.mil The following provisions apply to this acquisition: 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items; 52.212-3 Offerors Representations and Certifications- Commercial Items.
