Description

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 6 Office intends to negotiate on a sole source with Leeds Instruments, Inc. for a Olympus Model BX51 Polarized Light Microscope with 5 meg Q-Color Digital camera with Image Pro Express v5.0. The USEPA believes that this is the only manufacturer of the Olympus Polarized Light Microscope. Specifications are located at: http://www.epa.gov/region6/rfq. This proposed action is for equipment and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotes received within five days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. Central Contractor Registration (CCR) is required prior to execution of an award. If no responses are received, an award shall be made to Leeds Instruments, Inc.
