Description
A firm-fixed price contract to design, fabricate and conduct Government automotive testing on three prototype 6X6 FMTV-Based Medium Tactical cargo truck demonstrators that leverage concepts and further evolve design of the MTTD (Medium Tactical Truck Demonstrator) and other TARDEC/PM-MTV R&D Projects. The goal of this effort is to achieve performance standards of the Future Tactical Truck System (FTTS) performance specification. Revised performance specification incorporates capabilities of multiple patented technologies and requires enhanced performance in areas of ballistic/mine blast protected cab, hybrid drive train capability, maintenance/replacement capability, with emphasis on modularity/scalability, disc brakes, full-time all wheeel steer, in dependent suspension with minimal wheel-well intrusion, expanded fording/trench crossing capability, improved/relocated MHE. This truck will incorporate a 2004 EPA-Certified diesel engine, automatic transmission, SAE J1708 and/or J1939 data bus and antilo ck brake system (ABS). This vehicle must be capable of operating during on-road conditions and withstanding strain, shocks, vibrations and other conditions detrimental to off-road travel and operation. The vehicle will be capable of meeting all requireme nts throughout a life-cycle mileage profile consisting of 20% primary road, 50% secondary road, 15% trail and 15% cross country operations while carrying a three person crew and specified loads.
