- The 96 Contracting Squadron, 96 CONS/MSCBA at Eglin AFB, Florida intends to solicit, negotiate, and award a sole source Firm Fixed Price contract to S. I. Tech, 1101 N. Raddant Road, Batavia, IL 60510 for the purchase of FIBER OPTIC MODEMS. This is a synopsis for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This notice is issued as FIT1DG6209A1. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334210, with small business standard size 1000 employees. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Numbered note #22 applies to this acquisition. Sole Source Justification Statement: The S. I. Tech Fiber Optic Modem is the only available modem of their kind that will satisfy existing DT&E and OT&E test program and system under test network reliability and interconnection requirements. This requirement is for: CLIN 0001, Qty (20) Twenty, Each; MODEM - Modem - S. I. Tech TTL to fiber Transmitter 4 Channels, Rack Mounted, 110VAC, ST(S. I. Tech Part # 2856-4R-T) CLIN 0002, Qty (20) Twenty, Each; MODEM - Modem - S. I. Tech TTL to fiber Receiver 4 Channels, Rack Mounted, 110VAC, ST(S. I.
