- Description
- The contractor shall provide road reconstruction work on Forest Service Road 14, Hussy Mountain Road, on the Mout Rogers NRA of the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests in Wythe County of Virginia. The existing road is 2.1 miles of 10 to 14 feet wide ditched and gravel surfaced road which will be improved to 20 feet wide ditched and graveled road with alignment, drainage and grade improvements to the Hussy Mountain Horse Camp. The work to be done will include, but not be limited to, 9.88 acres of clearing and grubbing, 15,371 cubic yards of excavation, 2 each 5 feet by 3 feet Pre-cast concrete box culverts, 4.84 acres of seeding and mulching, 2550 tons of crushed aggregate, several metal culverts installations from 18 inch diameter thru 72 inch diameter. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation and supplies, and perform all work required in accordance with drawings and specifications of the contract. Location of project: From Wytheville, take US Highway 21 south approximately 15 miles to the Intersection of FSR 14. This solicitation will be advertised as an unrestricted procurement using the sealed bidding format and a 20% bid bond will be required, as well as past performance data, for a firm fixed price, construction contract, under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.
