- Description
- The Defense Distribution Center (DDC) has a requirement for the establishment of an Indefinite Delivery Requirements Contract for the manufacturing of plastic totes for the conveyor system in DDSP, New Cumberland, PA. The tote is an open top container designed for transporting packages on various types of conveyors whereon they are subject to contact with powered steel rollers and diverters and impact with tote box stops, other totes, platform trucks, tote carts and other vehicles with in the warehouse. The tote will also be affixed with an identification tabs (bar coded labels, four (4) per tote) which allow the tote boxes to be directed and guided around the conveyor circuits automatically by scanner controls. The tote shall be injection-molded using an existing government owned single cavity injection mold, which was fabricated to manufacture the existing totes for the Eastern Distribution Center (EDC). It will be the responsibility of the Government to transport the mold to the place of manufacture and then back to DDC after the totes have been produced. The tote box material shall be ABS-Polymerland ABS1GP. The Government will provide a sample tote after issuance of the solicitation to any contractor requesting it. The sample tote will be shipped at Government expense. The delivery point will be Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna, Building 2001, 2001 Mission Drive, New Cumberland, PA 17070. Contract period shall be for a base year with 4 option year periods. An economic price adjustment clause will be used to offset unpredictable changes in material costs during contract performance. The acquisition is 100% set aside for small business concerns. All responsible small business concerns may submit a proposal that shall be considered by this agency. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 326199 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. To receive awards resulting from solicitation issued after May 31, 1998, your company must be registered in the DOD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Contractors may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements by calling 1-888-227-2423 or via the internet at http://www.ccr.gov. The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offer using the lowest priced technically acceptable source selection process. The solicitation will provide the evaluation factors for award. The solicitation will also identify all information that a prospective offeror must submit in order to be considered for award. Failure to submit all the information requested by the solicitation may result in the proposal being eliminated from consideration for award. It is anticipated that solicitation SP3100-06-R-0023 will be posted to this site the week of September 4, 2006. Amendments to the solicitation will also be posted to this site.
