- Description
- The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) intends to issue a Communication Service Authorization to AT&T for the continuation of uplink KU-band services to the E-6B United States Air Force's Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), Airborne Command Post (ABNCP), and the Navy's TACAMO (Take Charge and Move Out). The uplink KU-band is a key element of the E-6B HDR-IP Architecture that will support routine operations; training and military exercises; situational awareness; intelligence; reconnaissance; and the transition to, and conduct of opposed operations short of nuclear war. Through the Northstar Digital Ground Entry Point (DGEP) at the Omaha Special Government Operations Center (SGOC), AT&T can provide the required access via Government-furnished interfaces to the Unclassified and Secret USSTRATCOM Local Area Networks (LANs). The aircraft requires interface with the ground station via a highly asymmetric communication path to obtain access to the USSTRATCOM LAN with the Northstar DGEP as the primary path and the KU-band satellite transponder as the alternate at the higher data rate.
