Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to The University of Maryland under the authority of FAR 13.106 1(b), soliciting from a single source. The object of this requirement is to procure ten (10) electron beam measurement samples to use as models to accurately measure and certify various integrated and nano-technology structures. The results of market research have resulted in a determination that The University of Maryland appears to be the only sources fro these samples as they have developed a technique that allows for the deposition of nano-scale platinum metal beads on suspended nano-wires and/or carbon nano-tubes. The anticipated award date of this order is on or about five (5) days from the date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested parties that believe they can satisfy the requirement to provide to noted system may provide evidence to so indicate no later than the response date noted above. A determination by the Government whether to compete this proposed purchase order is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. For information, call the POC identified below.
