Description

The USGS intends to award a noncompetitive purchase order to the Colorado Plateau Stable Isotope Laboratory of Northern Arizona University for analysis of bird feathers for isotopes. While there are other sources capable of performing these analyses, due to minute inconsistencies in biochemical analyses among laboratories, laboratories cannot be switched in mid-stream during a study. This source has been performing all feather sample analyses for USGS since 2004. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, but interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement to the Contracting Officer by e-mail only (rdonez@usgs.gov) no later than the response date shown in this announcement..
