- The VA VISN 22 Network Business Center intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with Edward Lifesciences LLC, One Edward Way, Irvine CA 92614 for following apparatus supplies, Thermodilution VIP + 6 Lumen Catheter, Transducer Kits -Dual and Single Line, Transducer Disposal, Closed Injectate Systems and Closed Arterial Line Blood Sample Systems with Needless Cannula for ABG'S and Direct Draw Lab Samples. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. A justification for other than full and open competition is being prepared in support of this acquisition. Edward Lifesciences medial apparatus products are the only company that makes their products with the additional ports needed for the critical care monitoring system in the ICU. Also the items being requested interact with the monitoring system. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. All proposals received by 4:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time, August 25, 2006 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
