Description
DESC: The U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC), National Oceanic Atmospheric and Administration (NOAA), and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, Marathon, FL., intends to procure services From a firm to assist in the Caribbean Connectivity Special symposium in conjunction with the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute (GCFI) Annual conference. The GCFI Conference will be held in Belize City, Belize on November 6-11, 2006 and the Caribbean Connectivity Special Symposium will be held for two days in the same location.. The Contractor shall provide the following tasks:1) Provide on-site support at the Symposium for November 10 and 11, 2006, 2)Provide support for conference facility preparation and conclusion, 3) Provide facilitation services at Symposium as necessary, 4) Collect written, electronic or other materials provided by participants, 5) Organize and or index collected materials to improve search capabilities of the data, 6) Provide travel arrangements for participants who are obliged to fly to Belize (Travel dates may include attendance of the GCFI conference if at no additional cost to the Symposium. Arrange hotel meeting room requirements, including availability of audio visual equipment and computer project systems, Provide travel arrangement for participants who are obliged to fly to Belize (Travel dates may include attendance of the GCFI conference if at no additional cost to the Symposium (approximately 20 people from the US/CONUS, and Caribbean region to Belize, Pay the registration fee for invited participate ($150 each before September 15th). 7) Arrange for Food and Beverage for the Symposium participants, Selection Criteria: 1) Demonstrate knowledge of regional scale marine processes and connectivity in the wider Caribbean region by including a written synopsis, 2) Possess past performance history that demonstrates meeting coordination skills, 3) Demonstrate organization skills, 4) Possess knowledge of marine protected areas, 5) Possess knowledge of Florida Keys and wider Caribbean regional demonstrated by employment, education, and or personal trips. 6) Demonstrate the ability to successfully arrange international trade conferences which include but not limited to; arranging hotel meeting rooms, equipment and computer project systems, coordinating and arranging travel arrangements for participants US/CONUS, and Caribbean regional to Belize. Minimum Qualifications: 1) Must possess a valid passport or other required identification for country clearance 2) Ability to travel to Belize for the duration of the conference. This is a 100% small business set-aside. The Request for Quotation will be available on or about Aug 10, 2006. Requests can be sent to 816-274-6983, Attn: Sharon Walker. The Central Region Acquisition Division (CRAD), requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all offerors must have a Dun & Bradstreet Number. The government now requires all contractors submit their Certification and Representation thru the on-line Business Partner Network (BPN). The BPN is the single source for vendor data for the federal government. Contractors should go on-line at www.bpn.gov. Award will not be made to any contractor that is not registered in CCR and BPN.
