- Description
- The Office of Law Enforcement Standards (OLES) Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement to conduct research leading to the revision of the performance standard for riot helmets and face shields. The specific requirements will be included in the Request for Proposal (RFP). THIS REQUIREMENT IS A FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION under FAR Part 15 Procedures. The NAICS code is 541690 with a size standard of $6.5M. The Government anticipates making an award for a firm-fixed-price contract. The period of performance of the contract one-year from September 18, 2006 to September 17, 2007. The solicitation, solicitation amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about August 02, 2006 and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. Potential offorers are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. Telephone requests for the solicitation will not be honored and no bidders list will be maintained. Questions concering the RFP must be submited via email no later than August 10, 2006.
