Description
SIC Code 3699, Laser engraving, cutting, and marking system This is a combined synopsis/ solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Funds are currently not available for this procurement. However, you are requested to provide your best price for the listed item(s). Should funds become available, you will be notified of contract award. Request reply not later than COB: 24 Sep 00. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation F046 66-00-Q0053 is issued as a Request for Quote using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Noun: Laser Engraving, Cutting, and Marking System. Model: See Description Paragraph. Quantity: 1 each Description: The specifications are brand name or equal. The brand name is Universal Laser Systems, Inc. The name and model number of the item are: M-300 Laser Platform. Detailed specifications are on the internet at www.ulsinc.com. The work area is industry standard 24 inches by 12 inches. Accessories are: 1. Auto focus. This sets the work table to the proper height for laser processing.; 2. Red laser pointer. This is a visible red beam tool for positioning material. This accessory is used to verify the exact position of items on the work table; 3. Interlocked safety enclosure; 4. 30 watt laser cartridge; 5. Air assist. This has one air source. It suppresses flaming and protects the mirrors and lens when the operator is cutting or engraving high debris material; 6. Cutting table. The cutting table supports the material being cut. Working range is 24 inches by 12 inches; 7. Rotary attachment. This accessory enables the operator to perform laser processing on cylinders, to work on tapered items, and to engrave 360 degrees or more around a cylindrical or tapered object. The rotary attachment should be able to handle items up to 8 inches in diameter and 16 inches long; 8. External exhaust. This accessory will remove smoke and odors from the engraving chamber generated during engraving or cutting; 9. Safety Features. The system shall have a Class I rating for the enclosure and interlocks that prevent exposure of personnel to the laser beam used for engraving and cutting during operation of the system.
