Description
The United States Marine Corps has a requirement for procurement and delivery of a maximum of 1500 Tractor, Rubber Tired, Articulated Steering, Multi-Purpose (TRAM)s, warranties, logistics support, technical manuals, training aids and operator/maintainer training on an unrestricted basis. This effort will be pursued as a commercial item purchase, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 2.1, which provides the standard definition of a commercial item. Standard practices for Acquisition of Commercial Items, as set forth at FAR 12.203, will be applied throughout the process. Additionally, the contractor shall provide the requisite program management and logistics support to ensure that delivery schedules, performance requirements and worldwide supportability of the TRAM is accomplished as set forth in the contract. The TRAM program has been initiated to produce and deploy a commercial type loader that w! ill fulfill the requirements set forth in the purchase description. This vehicle is a replacement for the existing TRAM, which has reached the end of it economical service life. Essentially, the TRAM is a militarized commercial type loader, pneumatic tire, four-wheel drive, articulated frame steer, diesel engine driven. The TRAM shall be sized to operate as a multipurpose bucket loader with a minimum capacity of 2.5 cubic yards and as a forklift with 72-inch forks with a minimum lift of 10,000 pounds at 48-inch load center. It shall have a minimal acceptable speed of 20 mph and at least a 60-inch fording depth. Combat, combat support, and combat service support units will utilize the TRAM. It must be capable of operating over uneven and unprepared surfaces (rough terrain) to include sand, snow and mud. PLEASE SEE SOLICITATION.
