Description

U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) anticipates contracting with Rockwell Collins Incorporated, Government Systems, 400 Collins Road NE, Cedar Rapids IA, 52498-0001 for an Armament Support Protection Panel (ASPP 253W-1) Digital Cockpit component, Rockwell Collins P/N 822-0589-001 installed on the AH/MH-6, Mission Enhanced Little Bird (MELB) aircraft fielded for USSOCOM. The proposed action is for an item that Rockwell Collins has designed, developed and manufactured and the Government does not own specifications and drawings to permit full and open competition. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority FAR 6.302-1. Firms that feel they can provide this item or equal are encouraged to identify themselves. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal, however, the Government will consider all proposals received by the specified due date (in accordance with FAR 5.203(a)). A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition is solely within the discretion of the Government. The estimated release date of the solicitation is 7 August 2006. You may request a copy via e-mail to awatson@tapo.eustis.army.mil. The purchase will be FOB Origin as a commercial buy under FAR Part 12. See Note 22 and 26.
