- PROJECT DESCRIPTION PROJECT #21 Exterior Repairs to Building W36, CP This project will repair the exterior envelope of building W36 and other misc repairs. The project is composed of, but not necessarily limited to, the following elements: Install exterior (EFIS) wall system- install EIFS on the exterior surface of the concrete block wall. The EIFS system shall include metal furring; an integral wall drainage system; a vapor retarder; min 1 inch insulation; mesh and exterior finish material; as well as a waterproof coating applied to the exterior. The EIFS system shall include the re-working of the metal roof edge to adjust for the additional thickness of the EIFS. Repair/replace damaged interior items- items within the interior of the building, which have been damaged due to exterior envelope deficiencies, shall be replaced with new. Items include, but are not limited to, ceiling tiles, paint finishes on the interior surfaces, electrical conduit, junction boxes, spalling of concrete block surfaces, and other related items. Insulate upper perimeter of exterior wall- installation of batt insulation continuously along the building perimeter at the top of the concrete block wall. The entire length of each exterior wall shall be insulated in this manner. Misc. roof repairs- stripping in field seams exposed to ponding water; installing strainers in the gutter outlets; re-installing the gutter on the North elevation to slope towards the downspout; repairing a bird/insect screen on one RTU unit; sealing of exposed fasteners at the parapet cap flashing. The roof consists of EPDM rubber membrane, on rigid insulation, on a wood deck underlayment. The roof system was installed in 2004.
