Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared IAW the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-11 and DFARs Change Notice (DCN) 2006-0711. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 3861 and the size standard is 750 employees. NAICS is 334220. This acquisition is a 100% small business set aside. Simplified Acquisition Procedures (the award will be less than $100,000) will be followed. The 412 TW/ AFFTC, Edwards Air Force Base, CA is purchasing the following Brand Name or Equal items; REQUIREMENTS: LINE 1: PART # 60-726-01 - EXTRON IN 1502 VIDEO SCALER (Quantity 37 each); LINE 2: PART # 60-190-01 - EXTRON 1U RACK SHELF (Quantity 17 each); BRAND NAME OR EQUAL JUSTIFICATION:MEMORANDUM FOR 412TW/PKDB; FROM: 412 TW / DRP (ACQ) (Marilyn Lang, 661-277-1067) 215 E. Yeager Blvd. Building 1408 Room 13 Edwards AFB CA 93524 SUBJECT: Brand Name or Equal Justification Memorandum for Extron Video Scalers; 1. Extron video scalers units are currently used in Room 143 Mission Control Room at Edwards. DRP is currently building 3 more control rooms with the same capability. The IN1502 has replaces the CS2 previously used. The CS2 unit has hit end of life and no longer available. Two In1502?s were procured using the government impact card. These two units were used to test with the current CS2?s for compatibly. The IN1502?s perform better and is a cost savings to the government. We installed these two units into Room 143; 2. Utilizing the same brand name or equal to meet these requirements insures that the new parts being procured will be compatible with the existing parts in the Mission Control Rooms. It is in the best interest of the Government to utilize common hardware to simplify logistics and lower integration costs. We tested many different units and preformed extensive Internet searches to determine compatibly and cost savings; Interested parties who believe they can meet all the requirements for the items described in this synopsis are invited to submit in writing complete quote including delivery FOB destination Edwards AFB CA 93524. Offerors are required to submit with their quote enough information for the Government to evaluate the minimum requirements detailed in this synopsis. CONTRACTORS MUST COMPLY WITH FAR 52.204-7 CENTRAL CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION (OCT 2003) AND DFARS 252.204-7004, ALTERNATE A (NOV 2003).
