Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisitions- Neurosciences, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition, on behalf of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to Veenstra Instruments, PO Box 115, 8500 AC Joure, The Netherlands for an automated blood sampler for PET imaging. The sampler is a computer-controlled automated blood sampling system to provide robust and accurate measurements of blood radioactivity concentration during the PET studies. The data will be stored on disk to provide arterial input information for the subsequent quantitative analysis of PET images. The major components of the system include: a counting unit with shielded detectors and multi-channel analyzer, a pump unit, a waste unit, a laptop computer with controller software, a mobile cart to house the integrated units for mobility. Veenstra Instruments is the source that can provide the equipment according to the above specifications and is available for immediate delivery. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 13 procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
