- Description
- The Sand Dollar and Plaskett Comfort Station Project for the Los Padres National Forest is located in Monterey County, California. The project consists of demolition and removal of existing toilet buildings, and removal of the concrete foundations and walkways. Installation of pre-engineered buildings for the Sand Dollar Picnic Ground and Plaskett Creek Campground. The building for Sand Dollar is designed to provide four toilet rooms for beach visitors and a chase area for storage of cleaning supplies. The building for Plaskett Creek is designed to provide three toilet rooms and one coin-operated shower for campground visitors and a chase area for storage of cleaning supplies. The project also includes an exterior cold water shower at Sand Dollar, a new septic tank leach field and LPG installation at Plaskett Creek and new water and sewer connections at both sites. The building at Plaskett Creek shall also include a solar power installation to power the coin-operated shower. Water pressure at both locations is presumed to be less than 20 pounds per square inch. Plumbing fixtures installed shall function properly under this condition. Work includes site grading, new utility connections and trenching. The pre-engineered buildings shall use cementitious lap siding on exterior walls with an asphalt shingle roof overhead. Stone veneer shall also be used for a natural appearance. Bullet-resistant, polycarbonate windows are also specified in order to prevent damage from vandalism. The work shall also includes construction staking, quality control, erosion and archeological resource protection. The work site is located from San Luis Obispo, California travel north on Pacific Coast Highway 1 approximately 59 miles to Sand Dollar Picnic Ground it is the parking lot on West side and Plaskett Creek Campground parking lot is on the East side. The recommended contract time is 180 calendar days. Contractors must be registered in Central Contractors Registry BEFORE a proposal is submitted. Proposals will not be considered without a CCR number. Registration can be done online at http://www.ccr.gov. Estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. NAICS code 236220 Size Standard $31.0 million. Solicitation Package will be posted in approximately 15 days. Offer due by noon September 7, 2006.
