Description
The National Institutes for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), HELD/TMBB, Morgantown, WV requires analysis of 40 samples in support of a project "Molecular Mechanisms of Cadmium Carcinogenesis" to determine differential gene expression profiles using microarray technology. The Applied Biosystem’s Rat Genome Microarray contains more than 10,000 well characterized and functionally important genes that are not known to be represented on any other commercially available microarray. The Vanderbilt Microarray Shared Resources is designed by Applied Biosystems as one of the Facilities to process experimental samples to determine differential gene expression profiling using Applied Biosystem’s Rat Microarray. In accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), the Vanderbilt Microarray Shared Resources is the only known organization which can provide unique resources to meet the requirements of microarray analysis including assessing quality and quantity of RNA and assay run on the ABI Platform. Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice their capabilities statement and supporting information in the format they choose, not to exceed 10 pages. Please forward capabilities and supporting information to: James Ambrozic, Reference: #JA000HCC33-2006-33049, JAmbrozic@cdc.gov. The government will review any/all capabilities statements and supporting information submitted and determine if other qualified sources do exist that could perform the effort. Information received in response to this notice will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days, negotiations will be conducted with Vanderbilt Microarray Shared Resources / Vanderbilt University Medical Center, as the only source and a purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
