Description

The project will be accomplished through the use of a stewardship contract, which authorizes BLM to enter into a service contract allowing for the value of vegetative material removed to be applied as an offset against the cost of services received (Public Law 108-7). The objectives of this contract are to reduce fuels in the wildland interface, restore healthy conditions in Douglas-fir and lodgepole pine forests, meadows, and aspen stands. Meeting these objectives will reduce the potential risk of wildfire, alter structure and composition of forested habitats, remove encroachment from meadows and aspen stands, and improve riparian function. Location of this project: 13 miles east of Butte, Montana - Silver Bow County A site visit has been scheduled for: Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at 9:00 AM. Participants meet at: Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Butte Field Office, 106 N. Parkmont, Butte, MT. Potential offerors are to provide their own transportation at no cost to the Government. The Government assumes no liability on behalf of offerors attending the site visit. Offerors intending to attend the site visit tour shall contact Lindsey Goetz (406-533-7678) at least 48 hours before the scheduled site visit and advise her of the firms' name and number of persons that will attend. The Request for Quotations will be available on or about August 4, 2006. See Numbered Notes 1.
