Description
This Federal Business Opportunity Announcement is notice that TRICARE Region 6, 7 & 8 which includes 46 Military Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming are initiating the standardization process for the product line of ANTI-EMBOLISM STOCKINGS. The intent of this standardization is to establish regionally preferred sources for hospital supply items and to standardize purchasing of these products for the MTFs. Additional TRICARE Regions may elect to join after the award. Clinical Product Teams (CPTs), composed of healthcare workers who have expertise and knowledge of the pro ducts, will evaluate this product line. They will review and technically evaluate the products submitted. TRICARE Region 6, 7 & 8 deems the CPT members to be medical experts. Therefore, they are qualified to determine which products are acceptable. Their recommendation can be accomplished by literature review, presentation, demonstration or clinical evaluation. Suppliers may be required to provide clinical samples at no cost to the government for the evaluation. Companies interested in having their produ cts evaluated for possible inclusion in the standardization process should carefully review the stated requirements below. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS are as follows: 1) Do you provide a full line of ANTI-EMBOLISM STOCKINGS products? 2) Do you offer a variety o f sizes/lengths? 3) Does your product have both open and closed/reinforced toes 4) Is your product hypoallergenic? 5) Is the product latex free? 6) Are your products washable? 7) Does your company provide a measuring device and size chart for your prod uct? 8) Are written instructions for donning the stockings included in the product packaging? 9) Are your stockings easy to don? 10) Do the stockings hold their position with prolonged wear? 11) Does cuff stay in place around thigh/calf without rollin g or sliding down leg? 12) Are your products available through the Prime Vendor, Cardinal? If your company currently holds a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) for the Medical-Surgical product line for ANTI-EMBOLISM STOCKINGS your company is eligi ble to participate in this standardization effort for this region. If your company is not a current DAPA holder for this product line, you may be eligible to participate in the standardization effort for this region by contacting the Defense Supply Center, Philadelphia (DSCP), Ms. Kim Nichols, Integrated Supply Team Supervisor (215) 737-7124 or e-mail at Kim.Nichols@DLA.MIL to apply for a DAPA. Your company may be considered once DAPA paperwork is pending at DSCP. Distribution of these products for the MTFs will be accomplished through Cardinal Health, the DoD Medical-Surgical Prime Vendor for Region 6, 7 & 8. If your company can provide ANTI-EMBOLISM STOCKINGS, please forward literature of all items available from your company that meet the product descri ptions above and any corresponding product literature no later than 21 August 2006. Those companies that do not reply by this date may be eliminated from consideration. To participate, contact Sarah L.
