- Contract consists of maintenance dredging within the project channel at various locations: from Station 87+895 to Station 122+778 to a required depth of 40 feet MLW plus 1 foot allowable over depth limited by a vertical plane through the required dep th contour, with no side slopes or required dredging outside both channel edges (box cut); between Station 141+800 and Station 144+500 to a required depth of 17 feet MLW plus 1 foot allowable overdepth, with dredging limits extended 25 feet outside both ch annel edges (box cut); and Fairless Turning Basin (Station 0+000 to Station 0+800) to a depth of 37 feet MLW plus 1 foot allowable overdepth, with no side slopes delineated and/or paid for along the basins east/west berthing lane edges and the west chann el edge of Newbold Range (box cut). Dredging will also be required to a distance of 25 feet outside the three remaining edges of the turning basin, with no side slopes delineated and/or paid for. Total estimated dredging yardage including allowable overd epth is approximately 700,000 cubic yards. Dredging under this advertisement will be open to plant pipeline, hopper and bucket dredges. The fabrication of timber walkways to access the Money Island sluice gates may be required. The following containment areas will be available for this contract: Area No. 26 (Money Island), Falls Township, PA; and Area No. 28 (Biles Island), Falls Township, PA. The NAICS Code for this project is 237990 and the small business size standard is $18.5 million. Issue date for the advertisement is on or about August 10, 2006 with bids opening on or about August 25, 2006. Solicitation documents, plans and specifications will only be available via the Federal Technical Data Solution (FedTeDS) homepage located at https://www.fedt eds/gov/. Registration for plans and specifications should be made via FedTeDS Internet homepage. Hard copies will not be provided. No written or faxed requests will be accepted. Contractors are responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation s. All amendments to this solicitation will be posted to FedTeDS at the above address. Hard copies of amendments will not be furnished. It is the contractors responsibility to monitor the web site for any amendments to this solicitation. All prospective contractors and their subcontractors and suppliers must be registered in FedTeDS before they will be allowed to download solicitation documents/information.
