Description
STATEMENT OF WORK CONTRACT SERVICES: Provide Data Analysis, Algorithm Development, Systems Definition Support, Front End Hardware, DSP Coding, and GUI Code Development for Beta Test of existing prototype sensor for the Electronics Business Group (EBG) to include the following: HARDWARE SIMULATION Hardware Simulation will establish the technical basis for the system using sound engineering principles, determine possible dynamic range and sensitivity of the measurements, and optimize equipment design, including the detection system, and signal processing path, assuming remote sensing applications with low power consumption are the target market. Tasks include: 1. Review Requirements of Product. 2. Generate Model of System with Human Target, Sensor, Amplification, Filtering, and Signal Processing segments. 3. Component Selection 4. Circuit Design 5. Schematic Capture 6. Circuit Simulation 7. Simulation of various scenarios with Target Human and obstacles. 8. Determine dynamic range of measurements and translate this data into distance-to-target specs. ALGORITHM DEVELOPMENT Work done will ensure that the hardware platform is properly designed to run the algorithm appropriate to the power and time requirements of the system. It will include analysis of temporal and frequency spectrum content of data from prototype systems, recommendations for signal processing steps to allow a practicable application of the algorithms. Validate and improve or rewrite existing algorithm (mask). Select a DSP platform, write C code to apply the mask to the received data, write code to allow communications with a pc that will have a GUI interface. The tasks include: 1. Write Code to Receive 16 bit data from Front End 2. Apply ?Mask? to the data being collected 3. Store Correlation Data 4. Apply a variable threshold to the correlation Data 5. Use Threshold to generate a Yes/No signal for the detection system 6. Write Code to support continuous monitoring by a PC. Documentation delivered will include the following: 1. Component Drawings with electrical, mechanical, schematic and PCB footprint information 2. Schematic Diagrams 3. Algorithm source code 4. Firmware Documentation 5. Qualification Procedures. HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT Take the hand wired breadboard op-amp receiver and A/D converter Demo Board, and combine them into a single unit. The Front End will use a BNC connector to allow easy change of antennas, and will deliver 16-bit 60 samples per second data in either a serial or parallel fashion to the DSP Demo Board. In addition the board will have a ?RED LED? which will activate when commanded by the DSP. Hardware Development Tasks include: 1. Review Requirements of Product 2. Component Selection 3. Circuit Design 4. Schematic Capture 5. Net list Generation 6. Footprint Generation 7. PCB Design 8. Generate Gerber Files for PCB Fabrication 9. PCB Assembly, Debug, and Test 10. Generate Costed Bill of Materials for the Front End GUI DEVELOPMENT The purpose of this tool is to review and interpret data to allow future improvement of the product. Software will be written to provide a means to: 1. GUI will be the main Yes/No display of human sensing. 2. GUI will allow a laptop computer to Collect and Display Raw Data, Mask Correlation Data, and Threshold. Documentation delivered includes the following: 1. Component Drawings with electrical, mechanical, schematic and PCB footprint information 2. Schematic Diagrams 3. Algorithm source code 4. Firmware Documentation 5. Qualification Procedures. MATERIALS SUPPLIED BY DKL INTERNATIONAL DKL will provide the following items: 1. Review of Documents and Updates as Required. 2. Technical Support, as required. 3. Prototype data files of raw collected data. 4. Prototype sensor. TRAVEL: On occasion, the contractor may be required to travel. FPI will reimburse contractor for the travel expenses to include flight, hotel, and meals. Meals will be reimbursed based on government per diem for the Washington, DC area at time of travel. Contractor agrees to obtain the lowest rates possible while on travel. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: This contract will commence from date of signature through ten (10) weeks, with an option to exercise three additional 6 month periods upon mutual agreement of both parties. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: All intellectual property, including all aspects of the product design, which are developed for this program, will be the property of DKL International, Inc. at the completion of the contract. INVOICE/PAYMENT: Contractor shall submit one invoice per month to include the following: Date of services; Hours worked; Parts/tool cost with original receipts; . PCB Fabrication with original receipts; Phone charges (cell or land); Travel expenses (if applicable) with original receipts; and Contract number/delivery order number. Payment shall be net 10. CANCELLATION AND/OR TERMINATION: Either party may cancel this contract with a fifteen (15) day written notification. If any party breaches or defaults any of the provisions of this contract, the other party may provide written notice of such breach to the other party. If said party does not cure its performance within 15 days from the date it receives notice, then any time after the expiration of such cure period, the non-breaching party may give written notice to the other(s) of its election to terminate this contract. Should there be any dispute arising under or related to this Agreement, such dispute may be resolved as provided under defined by this Agreement.
