- The National Hansen?s Disease Programs (DHHS/HRSA/BPHC/NHDP) has a requirement for disposable nylon monofilaments (5.07/10 gm) encased in a handle to be used as a screening implement to identify those patients who have lost protective sensation in their feet. Each monofilament must be quality tested to ensure that it delivers 10 gm of force when used as instructed in LEAP protocol. The LEAP foot screening protocol uses a monofilament, which delivers 10 grams of force, to identify patients with a foot at risk of developing problems. The requirement is for a quantity of 200,000 monofilaments, with options to purchase up to an additional 400,000. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 339113. The Request for Quote (RFQ) will be available approximately thirty (30) days from the posted date of this notice through FEDBIZOPPS. This requirement will be awarded under FAR Part 12, Commercial Acquisition and Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This notice is not a request for proposals. The solicitation document (RFQ) will be posted at www.fedbizopps.gov and can be downloaded by looking in the main menu under HHS/Office-Health Resources and Services Administration/locations-National Hansen?s Disease Programs. It shall be the offeror?s responsibility to monitor the site for amendments to the solicitation (RFQ).
