- The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, VISN 6 Centralized Acquisition Service, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Blue Ridge Medical Imaging Inc, Salem, Virginia for a two month rental of a special procedures suite for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. This proposed contract action is for an immediate need for temporary use of a mobile Siemens Angiostar Plus system for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 603.2. The VA believes that Blue Ridge Medical Imaging is the only company that can provide immediate delivery of the equipment and service, because the company is local and it can also provide immediate response and service technicians required in the event of breakdown. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet this immediate requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 5 days from the date of publication of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with immediate need for above equipment and the ability to provide immediate response for service calls. Information may be sent to the Contracting Office, VA Medical Center, Hampton, Virginia. 23667. Responses received will be evaluated however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA Medical Center will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Blue Ridge Medical Imaging.
