Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source purchase to the University of California, Center for Health Policy Research, Department of Health Services, School of Public Health, Los Angeles, California, (UCLA) pursuant to FAR subpart 13.106(b)(1). The objective of this purchase is to estimate annual Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) screenings rates for all sexually active women aged 18-25 years regardless of insurance status and to identify factors associated with the CT screening rates in California in order to target CT prevention efforts in the United States more efficiently. Other surveys have been used to estimate general STD testing for sexually active women, but CT screenings were not specified. The 2003 California Health Interview survey (CHIS) is the only population survey that can be used to estimate annual CT screening rates for sexually active women aged 18-25 years in the United States. UCLA is the only known source with access to this specific patient group data. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation will be offered. Businesses/research programs that feel they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement. Information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Capability documents may be sent to Cathy Johnson at chj5@cdc.gov. Please reference 2006-Q-08823 on all documentation and submit documents not later than August 2, 2006, 9:00 a.m. EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government and award may be made without discussion.
