- Provide geologic/geochemical expertise to compile, organize, evaluate, and document existing x-ray diffraction (XRD) mineralogical data for the volcanic hydrogeologic units in the Rainier Mesa/Shoshone Mountain (RM/SM) area of the Nevada Test Site (NTS), Nye County, Nevada. Requirements include: MS/PhD in Geology; more than 15 years experience in geologic characterization, including mineralogical characterization of the Tertiary volcanic units of the southwestern Nevada volcanic field; familiarity with all potential NTS-area XRD data sources; ability to effectively integrate the compiled data into an existing petrographic, geochemical, and geophysical database using specified quality assurance protocols; and ability to effective document geologic and petrographic analyses as evidenced by publication history.
