Description
Under Statutory Authority 38 U.S.C. 8153 Enhanced Health Care Resources with a Commercial Items format of terms, conditions, and provisions/clauses, Minneapolis VA Medical Center, MN requires 1.0 FTEE Orthopedic Surgeon certified in Orthopedic Surgery bye the American board of Orthopedic Surgery Surgeon with option to renew for two (2) additional 12-month periods. NAICS Code 621111 applies for this procurement with small business size standard of $9.0 million dollars. Contractor to provide board certified orthopedic surgeon for VA?s Orthopedic Department under the overall supervision of Chief, Surgery Service and Chief of Staff at this medical center. An academic appointment at the University of Minnesota for resident teaching is required. Contract services include academic, administrative and research. The VA reserves the right to make a single award or multiple awards against this solicitation, if in doing so, it appears to be in the best interest of the Government. Submitted proposals will be evaluated on (a) technical capabilities which include certifications; recent related experience; clinical skills; collaborative skills and training experience; (b) management capabilities and (c) past performance. Technical capabilities, management capabilities and past performance, when combined, are significantly more important than price. Pricing must include all costs for base salary, fringe benefits, retirement, life and disability, unemployment, social security, Medicare, health insurance and medical liability insurance. Contractor must have own travel and housing. Pricing may be submitted as an hourly, weekly or monthly charge but must reflect total costs and must be able to calculable to compare with other offers submitted. Pricing factors will include best value and delivery period. Solicitation documents are available in electronic and hard copy formats.
