Description
General construction of one New Generation Runway Visual Range System (RVR) for RWY 14 within the Aircraft Operations Area (AOA) of Alexandria International Airport. This RVR system consists of a concrete foundation with appurtenances, primary power cables, and signal control cables. The Contractor shall provide adequate labor, equipment, and all necessary materials (not provided by the government) to install New Generation RVR system in accordance with the Contract Documents within 21 calendar days after "Notice to Proceed." After completing plant construction of this RVR site, Resident Engineer will perform electronic installation and testing. The anticipated duration for electronics installation, testing and commissioning is a minimum 21 days. The Contractor shall then test and make operational of the New RVR System, and once the whole system is accepted they then can start: (1) Removal of the existing RVR support pole and RVR sensors in 3 calendar days. This becomes the property of the FAA, it is to be decommissioned and removed. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
