- The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest Division (NAVFAC SW) located at 1220 Pacific Highway (Code RQ10.MEC), San Diego, CA 92132 is conducting market research on standard commercial practices for Base Operations and Maintenance services to determine if commercial items are available to meet the Governments needs. Service requirements include the following: Facilities Investment work will primarily consist of infrastructure Sustainment and minimal Restoration and Modernization work. Sustainment is the maintenance and repair necessary to keep an inventory of facilities and other assets in good working order. Restoration and modernization normally consists of major rehabilitation and capital improvements that is accomplished through other Navy programs. Some major repair, minor construction and stand-alone demolition may be accomplished as part of Sustainment. Contractors may be required to perform maintenance, repair, alternation, demolition and minor construction for the following type of systems and facilities: 1. BUILDING AND STRUCTURES MAINTENANCE Interior and exterior finishes Plumbing (Includes backflow prevention devices) Grease Traps Exhaust Hoods and Ducts Electrical Structural Bridge and Jib Cranes Relamping Locksmithing 2. BUILDING SYSTEMS HVAC Fire Protection Vertical Transportation Equipment (VTE) Intrusion Detection Systems Boilers (excluding Central Utility Plant Boilers) Compressed Air Systems 3. MISCELLANEOUS Cathodic Protection Systems Emergency Generator Systems Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) Lightning Arrestors and Grounding Devices 4. ROADS AND PAVED SURFACES Traffic Control Devices Striping Curbs, sidewalks and parking lots Bridges Drainage Systems Waterfront Piers and Bulkheads Wharfs 5. TRACKAGE Railroads Crane and Elevated Crane 6. AIRFIELDS Runways Taxiways Navigational Aids and Lighting 7. FAMILY HOUSING / BACHELOR QUARTERS 8. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS Signage Fencing Food Service Equipment 9. Chiller Plants/Steam: Operation, maintenance, and repair of steam and hot water generation plants, steam and hot water distribution systems, and condensate return systems. 10. Electrical: Operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power generation plants and transmission and distribution systems. 11. Gas: Operation, maintenance, and repair of gas generation plants and distribution systems. 12. Wastewater: Operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment plants and collection systems. 13. Water: Operation, maintenance, and repair of raw water supply, water treatment plants and distribution systems. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) AND A CONTRACT AWARD WILL NOT BE MADE FROM THE ATTACHED QUESTIONNAIRE. WE ARE REQUESTING ASSISTANCE FROM THE COMMERCIAL INDUSTRY IN THE PREPARATION OF AN ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE & REPAIR SERVICE CONTRACT.
