Description

Notice of Intent The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate a sole-source procurement with Eaton Electrical Services & Systems for two (2) VCP-W Medium Voltage Vaccum Breaker Test Cells in SSA?s NCC Utility building. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. As the manufacturer of the VCP-W medium voltage vacuum breaker, Eaton designs proprietary cubicles to work exclusively with the breaker. The test cell incorporates a proprietary cubicle for the breaker to be tested and patented electrical controls to perform vacuum integrity testing of the entire breaker assembly. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
