Description

Amendment No. 2 to Solicitation 6TS-06-JAS-0003. See Standard Form 30 and Page 2. In order to insure that all potential vendors are aware of the facts as the GSA sees them, and so that all who offer proposals can prepare their pricing from an equal starting point, we want to clarify some of the numbers used in port counts we have provided. We believe that on many of our systems, we are currently over supplied with active ports at this time. We anticipate that, regardless of what vendor?s proposal is accepted, within a short time frame after award of this contract, we will be substantially reducing the number of ports on our systems. Our anticipation is that, given the information provided in our first amendment on regrooming, we will be downsizing to an estimated total port count of approximately 14,000 within the first few months of performance on the new contract. The government emphasizes that the counts listed in the attachment are our best estimates, but are estimates only of the status after regrooming, and no assurances are given as to the ultimate accuracy of the numbers. We do believe that these numbers will be more accurate, post-award, than those provided in the solicitation, and we urge all potential bidders to keep this information in mind as they calculate the per-port maintenance charges on their proposals. NOTE: GSA will not be adjusting Price Schedule A quantities to reflect the above numbers, for evaluation purposes, the quantities will remain as originally submitted. The closing date remains 3:00pm, CST, Friday, July 21, 2006 as extended in Amendment No. 1
