Description
NAVSEA Warfare Center - Philadelphia, Code 635 is updating and improving the storage of Calcium Hypochlorite currently used aboard U.S. Navy ships. An investigation is being conducted to gather background information on new products for the storage of Calcium Hypochlorite. Code 635 requires a completely non-metallic (hinges and latches included), corrosion-resistant alternative locker. New lockers must be able to be locked or have a lock attached and must have top vent holes to allow for release of chlorine gas produced by Calcium Hypochlorite. Lockers must be able to store a maximum of forty-eight 6 ounce bottles of Calcium Hypochlorite and must be able to be secured (mounted) to ship?s bulkheads. Locker doors must have a rubber seal around the inside perimeter of the door(s) to contain spills. The lockers are required to be gray. Please contact Mr. Carl Joyce, (215) 897-7297, carl.joyce@navy.mil, if additional information is required. This synopsis is for information purposes only. It does not constitute an RFQ and does not obligate the Government in any way to purchase any of the systems to be offered.
