- The United States Air Force (USAF) Marathon is excited to be celebrating its 10th Anniversary. The USAF Marathon is held at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio and is open to the public. The marathon has built a remarkable reputation for its outstanding closed course, organization, exposition, post-race festival and customer service. In 2005 we were awarded the official status as the only sanctioned marathon in the U.S. Air Force making it an important, high profile event with senior leadership involvement. With that in mind, the USAF Marathon staff is constantly striving to develop and expand the event and to anticipate the needs of our participants, sponsors and community. This year our goal is to expand runner participation to 10,000 runners and to expand all of the events surrounding the marathon to give our sponsors the highest featured visibility. Last year our runners represented 50 states and 8 foreign countries with a total of about 10,000 people attending the post-race festival. This gives our sponsors a unique opportunity to connect with a large and global market. This year?s race will be on Saturday, September 16, 2006 with a two day Sports and Fitness Exposition on September 14-15, Gourmet Pasta Dinner on the eve of the race and a Post-Race Festival at the finish line. Also this year, the A-10 Thunderbolt II "Warthog" will be highlighted as the featured Air Force Aircraft. Currently we?re seeking sponsors to participate in the many different events that are all part of the USAF Marathon. The USAF Marathon offers various levels of sponsorship including category exclusivity, signage, sampling opportunities, two day expo, gourmet pasta dinner, post-race festival, race-course hospitality stations and logo opportunities.
