- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake Ca intends to procure on a full and open competitive basis a firm fixed price contract to drill one 5,000 foot geothermal test hole with an option to extend the test hole to 7,000 foot. The test hole is located at the Hawthorne Army Ammunition Depot, Hawthorne Nevada. The test hole will be used by the Navy's Geothermal Program Office in its resource-potential investigation. The requirement consists of a provision to cover conditions such as lost circulation, angle deviation, standby time, acts of God, test hole stimulation, geophysical logging, coring and casing perforation. Blow-out prevention equipment will be required. Subcontractors used for logging will be required to submit copies of their Federal and State licenses. The project is estimated to take 160 days to complete. Proposals are being request on a firm-fixed price basis to include all mobilization, equipment, supplies, materials, labor and supervision. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be release on or about 25 Jul 06 and close approximately thirty days later. The RFP and any attachments will be available for download at http://neco.navy.mil. Subcontracting plan maybe require to be submitted with proposal. Additional information and statement of work will be included in or attached to the RFP.
