R.Q.M No. QEG60099 Solicitation Number: (NHLBI-PB-AR-2006-250/BNJ) Solicitation Type: Noncompetitive Suggested Source: Gatan, Inc. Title: Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is conducting a market survey/pre-solicitation in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR 7.303), http://www.acqnet.gov/far to determine the availability and technical capability of contractors to provide the brand name or equivalent items and/or equipment. The brand named items are manufactured by Gatan, Inc., 780 Commonwealth Dr., Warrendale, PA 15086. The items required are as follows: Item # 1: Ultra phosphor, FEI 850.3k GIF2002, Part: 4022 198 72141. Item # 2: Installation and basic operator training for the image filter Part: 850.T. Specifications for the Energy Filter includes: It must be post column (bottom) mounted, must be capable of operating at electron energies 100keV to 300keV, must have a CDD at least 2K x 2K pixels in size, The CDD must be peltier cooled (-20 C or below) to reduce noise, must have a high sensitivity phosphor scintillator suitable for low dose automated cryo-electron tomography, CDD dark current must be 8 counts/pixel or less with Peltier cooling turned on, image digitalization depth must be 14 bit or greater, CDD readout speed must be 0.4 Mpixels/sec or greater, must have zero-loss imaging as one of it?s operating modes, inherent energy resolution at zero-loss must be 0.40eV or better, thermal drift of the zero-loss peak must be 6.0 eV/C or less, must be compatible with the energy-filter-ready Tecnai P30He electron microscope with the energy filter control (EFTEM Technique) embedded in the microscope?s user interface, must include a TV rate camera with monitor for live viewing and use in filter alignment, must be compatible with Tecnai?s low dose data acquisition software with automatic beam blanking, must be controlled through the Tecnai User Interface or through custom user-written software for microscope control and automation, vendor to supply shipping, installation, and training. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 334516. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals (RFP) and submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary and the Government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred.
