- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) intends to procure production services for the 2006 NICHD Division of Intramural Research (DIR) Annual Report. The contractor shall provide scientific editing, printer-ready layout using InDesign layout printable-compatible software, copy-editing and printing of the annual report. Scientific editing shall include review of the report from the investigator and then discussion with the investigator for intelligibility of the scientific text, graphics and production of up-to-date bibliographies for investigator. The contractor shall compile an introduction to the report. Layout will be prepared using InDesign layout printable-compatible software and shall include cover design, processing of photographs, graphics, production of a contents page and index of investigators. Copy editing shall include correction of grammar, punctuation and spelling errors. The contractor shall provide coordination between any sub-contractors. The contractor shall provide 30 copies of the pre-print first draft by December 1, 2006 for the NICHD Board of Scientific Counselor?s meeting. The contractor shall have the final copy ready for printing by January 2007 and provide1000 finished annual report products in bound book format by March 15, 2007. The contractor shall have thorough knowledge of the NICHD DIR investigators and their research, which is critically important in the production of this report. This procurement will be under Part 13 of the FAR. The period of performance shall be for September 2006 through March 2007. All small businesses that are capable of providing the Government with the services described above may request a copy of the Request for Quote (RFQ) in writing or by FAX to (301) 480-8501 to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. The following clause is incorporated and will remain in full force in any resultant award. It is anticipated that NIH-NIDDK-06-930 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is August 7, 2006 Quotations must be submitted in writing to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Blvd., Two Democracy Plaza, Room 774B, Bethesda, Maryland, 20817, Attention: V. Lynn Griffin. FAX quotations must contain offeror?s name, address, telephone number and fax number. FAX quotations will be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative.
