- Description: This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The office of NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service(NMFS), Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC) located in Seattle, WA has a requirement for a contractor to operate and maintain an imaging-sonar unit at the Sunset Falls site on the Skykomish River to assess the feasibility of counting Chinook salmon using sonar. NOAA will be placing a 900khz and 450khz imaging-sonar unit at the trap at the Sunset Falls Site. The management of these systems will require regular checks of hardware and software as well as downloading, organizing, storing, and disseminating information collected by the system. The work will include:1.) Assistance with site selection for the sonar installation; 2.) Assistance with Sonar installation;3.) Basic maintenance and operation of the sonar and 4.) Collecting, storing and disseminating data from the sonar. The intended acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 USC 235 (c) (1), Only One Responsible Source. The government identified Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) as the only source who can complete work under proposed contract, because the Sunset Falls site is in WDFW facility and WDFW operates the trap and is familiar with the area and local landowners. The government reserves the right to solicit bids based on the receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue an order to WDFW without further notice. A firm fixed price purchase order will be issued with start date of Sept 6, 2006 end date of Sept 30, 2007. This may represent the only official notice. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and complete online Representations and Certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov.
