Description
This is a Sole Source acquisition. Synopsis published for informational purposes only. Solicitation documents are not available. This proposed contract action is for the acquisition of a service for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1. The NAICS code is 541690 with a size standard of $6.5 million. The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), intends to negotiate and award a contract on a sole source basis to Altimetrics, LLC, of Cornish New Hampshire. The objective of the contract is to insure the successful completion of the satellite altimetry work and to assure development of vital new ocean altimetry data products, specifically for Jason-2/OSTM. The contractor shall work with NESDIS/ORA/LSA to continue and further the development of the altimetry data base. This requires research into global sea level rise (GSLR) and the impact which atmospheric warming has had on GSLR. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities. Additionally, any response to this notice must show clear, compelling, and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the government. All information received by the POC listed below by 1:00 p.m. eastern time July 17, 2006, will be considered by the government This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the government will consider all quotations/ responses received by the response date of July 17, 2006. If no affirmative written responses are received, the contract will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
