- The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis the following items: 5 P/N 10338447 cable assemblies, 3 P/N 10226768 cable assemblies, 3 P/N 10226770 cable assemblies, 5 P/N RFC000737 cable assemblies, 4 P/N RFC000743 cable assemblies, and 4 P/N RFC000744 cable assemblies. This requirement is sole sourced to W.L. Gore & Associates (UK) Ltd., Mariner Drive Dundee Tech Park, Dunndee DD21JA, Scotland based on unique capabilities. The required laboratory fibre channel components must be absolutely compatible with the aircraft components, yet must be custom manufactured to precise engineering specifications for laboratory installation. Due to the unique characteristics of these components they are not available anywhere else. They were designed specifically for the F/A-18 AMC&D program and W.L. Gore is the only source for the fibre channel components and devices. 100% electrical and physical compatibility is a first and foremost requirement. Any firms believing that they can provide the W.L. Gore cable assemblies, may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than 5 days after the date of publication of this notice. It must clearly show the firm's ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy or reliability of the data without causing programmatic hardship.
