- THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE SYNOPSISThe 45th Contracting Squadron has a sole source requirement for replenishment of mission critical reagents (dAbz Amidite, 2g, 18 ea; dGdmf Amidite, 2g, 18 ea; dCbz Amidite, 2g, 18 ea; T Amidite, 2g, 18 ea; Tetrazole/Acetonitrile, 450mL, 4/pk, 16 pk; Acetic Anhydride/Pyridine/THF, 450mL, 4/pk, 16 pk; 1-Methylimidazole/THF, 450mL, 4/pk, 16 pk; .02 M Iodine/Water/Pyridine/THF, 450mL, 4/pk, 16 pk; Trichloroacetic Acid/DCM, 2L, 4/pk, 8 pk; Acetonitrile, 4L, 4/pk, 14 pk; Anyhdrous Acetonitrile, diluent, 100mL, 4/pk, 100 pk; 0.2uM columns, dA(Bz), 200/tub, 4 pk; 0.2uM columns, dC(Bz), 200/tub, 4 pk; 0.2uM, columns, dG(dmf), 200/tub, 4 pk; 0.2uM columns, T, 200/tub, 4 pk and TEAA, 2.0mol, 2 pk to include all shipping and handling costs for hazardous materials). The requested delivery for this requirement is approximately thirty (30) days after receipt of the purchase order. This is a Sole Source with Applied Biosystems IAW FAR 6.302-1. Applied Biosystems is the only source capable of fulfilling the government?s requirement as they are the only source for the ABI 3900, an automated synthesizer capable of rapidly producing 48 oligonucleotides simultaneously, including the use of a variety of loading concentrations and the capability of adding up to six modified bases. For quality control purposes and establishment of production parameters, ABI reagents need to be utilized. To change the source of the reagents during the examination period would seriously hinder the process by creating more process variables. No solicitation documents exist at this time. This item/service utilizes Standard Industrial Code (SIC) 2819 with a business size of 1000 employees and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 325188. Interested firms may identify their capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the government will consider any responses from capable sources received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis. 45 CONS/LGCB has determined that Applied Biosystems is the only source capable of providing this requirement.
