- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to correct the instruction to see attached item list and product specifications. Any interested party may request a copy of the item list and product specifications from one of the points of contact listed below. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals, which will be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. This synopsis/solicitation is identified as FDA-SOL-06-00261. It is the government?s intent to negotiate on a sole source basis with Kinetic Systems Inc., 20 Arboretum Road, Boston, MA 02131 for the following items: Optical Tables/Vibration Equipment. There is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements due to the following reasons: GSA has already equipped certain areas of the building with KSI equipment. For purposes of obtaining cost-effective maintenance and adjustment services in the future, FDA requires a single vendor for all vibration isolation equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals, which will be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any interested parties shall submit a response to the point of contact by 4 P.M. EST, Tuesday, July 25, 2006.
