- Description
- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has a requirement for 40 water vapor sensors, including installation of the sensors aboard commercial aircraft and integration of the sensors with aircraft platforms, avionics, and/or other mechanisms enabling near real-time collection and reporting of water vapor and potentially other atmospheric elements. The Contractor shall be responsible for acquiring and maintaining aircraft certifications for the integration of the water vapor sensors on the aircraft. For a period of three years after the installation of each water vapor sensor, the Contractor shall be responsible for the continuous operation and maintenance of the sensor. The Contractor shall be responsible for delivering observations to NOAA in a manner that enables seamless integration of these data into NOAA communications and data management infrastructures. Completion of the installation and integration of all 40 sensors shall take place within twelve months after contract award. Request for Proposal DG133W-06-RP-0209 will be issued on or about July 26, 2006 and will close on or about August 25, 2006. Prospective offerors are advised that NOAA expects to have additional requirements for water vapor sensors in the future. See Notes 12 and 26.
