- The US Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service in Pullman, WA has a requirement for a Luminex200 System w/MasterPlex CT with MasterPlex GT v.2.3 Analysis software and MasterPlex QT v.2.5. The Luminex System is a flexible analyzer base on the principles of flow cytomety that meets the needs of our unit for geotyping and protein based assays with suspension array technology. The Luminex 200 instrument can analyze up to 100 fluorescently dyed 5.6 micron-sized polystyrene microspheres that act as both the identifier and the solid surface to determine positive hybridization. The analyzer consists of integrated lasers, optics, advanced fluidics and high-speed digitalsignal processors allowing determination both specificity of bead analyte and detection of positive sequence specific genomic hybridization. Our present system runs genotyping assays with a Luminex instrument in a WSU core facility. It is important to continue to utilize the Luminex technology in the interest of consistency with our assays. However, our needs to genotyping make our needs for software unique. MiraiBio provides the basic Luminex200 instrument, installs and services the unit, and provides three types of software that meet our specific needs. One type of software provided by MiraiBio is MasterPlex CT, which provides integrated control of the Luminex200 instrument and provides a platform for data acquisition. More precisely, the MasterPlex CT software allows for integrated setup and maintenance of the instrument, remote monitoring of the instrument and increased user control for data acquisition. Also included I the MiraiBio package is MasterPlex GT genotyping Software. MasterPlex FT has been specifically designed to simplify genotying and haplotying analyses from multiplexed data generated with the Luminex200. Additionally, the MasterPex QT software is specifically designed to interface with the acquisition (MasterPex CT) software and to analyze cytokine assays to meet our needs.
