Description

The Defense Information Systems Agency intends to award a contract on an other than full and open competitive basis for the procurement of: two Opal 2RU 80 Mbps 50 services 1 ASI output + TNM-5291 + TNM-5292 + TNM-5091, Part Number TNM-5280-A; two Opal Options Live ASI Input with Optimux SW (N/A with TNM-5002), Part Number TNM-5001; two Opal Options 10/100 Mbps multiport board, Part Number TNM-5092; two Opal Trade In (discount) Part Numbers 8303JZG21287 and D242JZG2G101; and one Gold Service, Thales P-2 Gold Service, Broadcast customers, 24x7x365/1 hours telephone response, on-site support available 7x24x365 within 72 hours, emergencies have priority response, assembly exchange within 2 business days from time of issuance of RMA, service covers Thales and Harmonic equipment only. The anticipated award will be made under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The award will be made to Thales Broadcast & Multimedia, Inc., 104 Feeding Hills Road, Southwick, MA 01077. Thales Broadcast & Multimedia, Inc. is the sole manufacturer and provider of these supplies and services, including the trade-in allowance. Due to compatibility requirements with existing Digital Video Broadcast ? Return Channel Satellite architecture, no substitution of these supplies and services can be accepted. These are commercial items that will be acquired under FAR Part 12 procedures. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent. Administrative Information: The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334220. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. See numbered note 22, with the exception that the time period for receipt of proposals for consideration is two days (until 7/13/06) instead of forty-five days.
