- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared IAW the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-19 and DFARs Change Notice (DCN) 2006-0606. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 5063 and the size standard is 100 employees. NAICS is 423610. This acquisition is a 100% small business set aside. Simplified Acquisition Procedures (the award will be less than $100,000) will be followed. The 412 TW/ AFFTC, Edwards Air Force Base, CA is purchasing the following Brand Name or Equal items. REQUIREMENTS: Line 1: Mfr: 8279-1000-10 - Belden Coaxial Cable (Quantity 33 Each); Line 2: Mfr: BCP-C4B - CANARE 75 OHM (Quantity 8000 Each); FROM: Control Room Systems Program Office. 412 TW/DRP (ACQ) 215 East Yeager Blvd., Building 1408, Room 1 Edwards AFB CA 93524 SUBJECT: Brand Justification Memorandum for F 1SOAZ6 164B002. Canare and Belden parts 1 Canare connectors and Belden 8279 coax are currently used in all Mission Control Rooms at Edwards. This cable and connectors are used to inter-connect telemetry sources between patch panels and end equipment. 2. Utilizing the same brands to meet these requirements insures that the new parts being procured will be compatible with the existing parts in the Mission Control Rooms. It is in the best interest of the Government to utilize common hardware to simplify logistics and lower integration costs. 3. We had previous used Tyco for this application. Tyco parts were found to be faulty when terminating the connectors to the cable. Canare and Belden had no faults and is currently used in the Mission Control Rooms. Canare and Belden products would provide compatibility with previous installs. Interested parties who believe they can meet all the requirements for the items described in this synopsis are invited to submit in writing complete quote including delivery FOB destination Edwards AFB CA 93524. Delivery of first set of units, five pieces, is not to exceed 120 days. Delivery of the final five units will be scheduled within 30 days after receipt of the first set of units and not to exceed 150 days. Offerors are required to submit with their quote enough information for the Government to evaluate the minimum requirements detailed in this synopsis.
