Description
The Maritime Administration (MARAD) intends to award a sole source contract to Marine Propulsion Inc for Reduction Clutch Parts for the Training Ship the Golden Bear. Lohmann & Stolterfoht is the only known manufacturer of the required parts. Following are replacement clutch parts for the Lohmann & Stolterfoht Main Engine, GVE 2050, Product No. 1251, Order No. 12/242 034, Year 1986, 2 x 9191 KW, 2 x 514 L/min, 3.6731:1, Lubrication Class HP100. Clutch: Pneumaflex KAP 410, Model 1000, Rubber hardness grade MD. (1.) Spiroflex Coupling Element for Flexible Air Clutch/Coupling #16812891 Element EJN 350 MD KAP410 T07 (2.) Spiroflex Coupling Element for Flexible Air Clutch/Coupling #16812892 Element EJN 350 MD KAP410 T08 (3.) Spiroflex Coupling Element for Flexible Air Clutch/Coupling #16812893 Element EJN 350 MD KAP410 T09 (4.) Spiroflex Coupling Element for Flexible Air Clutch/Coupling #16812894 Element EJN 350 MD KAP410 T10 (5.) Friction Pads for Air Clutch/Coupling #16215929 Set Friction Linings KA 410 (6.) Seal Kit for Air Clutch/Coupling #16563894 Seal Kit KA 410 (7.) Freight Lohmann & Stolterfoht, the OEM who still supports the supply of these parts, markets them through Marine Propulsion Inc. of Hammond, Louisiana, as their only agent in USA. The Government intends to solicit the proposed contract for supplies with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit bids. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received within fourteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
