Description
The Federal Aviation Administration William J. Hughes Technical Center, located at Atlantic City International Airport, Atlantic City, New Jersey, is conducting a market survey to find any/all contractors with experience in hardware engineering and maintenance specifically for the FAA HOST System (see specific technical HOST hardware requirements below). The FAA intends to award up to a five (5) year contract for hardware engineering and maintenance services. The following POTENTIAL contract particulars apply: Type of Contract: Labor Hour Duration: Potential for up to five (5) years Potential Effort Ceiling (per year): Up to 1,250.0 labor hours/year DESCRIPTION OF POTENTIAL EFFORT: The Federal Aviation Administration HOST Systems Support Branch, ATO-E (AJE-1210), is responsible for providing process engineering, support, maintenance, and software/hardware updates/fixes/patches for the FAA HOST System. The FAA HOST Systems Support Branch is currently interested in procuring an experienced hardware engineer for maintenance and support for HOST hardware systems. Technical support and services are sought for the effort contained in the attached statement of work (SOW) entitled, "HOST Hardware Engineering and Maintenance". Any potential offerors interested in the above technical requirement may submit a technical proposal no longer then five (5) pages in length that describe the specific technical experience delineated above. Potential offerors must also submit one (1) resume of the proposed candidate with experience in the above systems and hardware. The resume does not count towards the five (5) page technical proposal limit. All submittals shall be technically evaluated based upon the following criteria: A) Technical Experience Offeror shall show specific corporate technical experience in all HOST hardware systems, specifically: 1. IBM 9672 G3 Mainframe hardware engineering support 2. IBM 3274 Terminal Controller Unit hardware engineering support 3. IBM 3814 Mainframe Switching peripheral hardware engineering support 4. IBM 3480 Tape Controller Unit hardware engineering support 5. Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance and architectural support for the IBM 9672 G3 and all peripheral systems (IBM 3274, 3814 & 3480) 6. Experience supporting and changing IBM microcode for IBM 3274 and 3814 7. Experience with troubleshooting support including analyzing data received from the following equipment: Coax Trace Tool, Escon Analyzer, Oscilloscope, and Channel Interface Monitor (CHIM). B) Key Personnel - Hardware Engineer Offeror shall provide one (1) resume for the nominated individual showing direct technical experience in all HOST hardware systems, specifically: 1. IBM 9672 G3 Mainframe hardware engineering support 2. IBM 3274 Terminal Controller Unit hardware engineering support 3. IBM 3814 Mainframe Switching peripheral hardware engineering support 4. IBM 3480 Tape Controller Unit hardware engineering support 5. Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance and architectural support for the IBM 9672 G3 and all peripheral systems (IBM 3274, 3814 & 3480) 6. Experience supporting and changing IBM microcode for IBM 3274 and 3814 7. Experience with troubleshooting support including analyzing data received from the following equipment: Coax Trace Tool, Escon Analyzer, Oscilloscope, and Channel Interface Monitor (CHIM). The technical proposal shall be technically evaluated and graded on a pass/fail basis for both criteria. To be considered for award, offerors must receive a grade of "pass" for ALL technical criteria. To receive a grade of "pass", offerors must show direct, verifiable technical experience in HOST hardware systems for both technical criteria above.
