- The Federal Bureau of Prisons has a requirement for the provision of Dental Assistant services for the inmate population at the Metropolitan Detention Center Guaynabo (MDC) located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico 00965. The small business size standard for this requirement is $6.5 million and the NAICS is 621210. The contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited to: providing chair-side assistance, clerical duties, controlling hazardous material levels, maintaining stock levels and sterilizing instruments. It is estimated that the contractor will perform 1,440 one hour sessions per year. The contractor shall be a licensed dental assistant in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and a graduate of an accredited school of dental assistant. The contract period will consist of a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods for renewal. The work is expected to start on or about October 1, 2006. A Government proposal to provide these services is being developed, and a contract may or may not result. Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information provided to the Government. The Market Research Survey Questionnaire will be available on or about June 29, 2006, and will be distributed solely through General Service Administration, Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation and/or amendments, will be distributed solely through this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information regarding this acquisition. The response date for the market survey is July 14, 2006. No collect calls will be accepted. No telephone request or written request for the market survey will be accepted.
